Italy - I'm in Love

I have a good start to the trip. At the airport I met Franco, an Italian on his way home from Batam. He knows I'm on my way to meet my hb he say he'll wait with me till I'm in safe hand.
He sits in the biz class, thus he get to immigration much earlier than me, but he waited. Then he's Italian, so he went through the checks much faster. He waited again. And he has no luggage, so he waited once again. In total, he wait 60 mins for me. Then out we came. Hb waved franctically when he saw us. Ran into his arms. Franco almost left at that point, but I insisted that he gets to know hb too. Thank you Franco. You start off my trip really nicely.

Rome - It's really sunny and warm, no I should say hot. The sun is scorching. You feel cold only when you're in the shadow and when the wind blows. If not, it feels as hot as Spore minus the humidity. Sitting in the serenity of Sistine Chapel is calming (if only the guards will stop their Shhhhhs...I think they make more noise than the crowd.) I know I'm right to make the trip. I have always wanted to come see this piece of hard work by a man who had unwillingly took up the task. Yet he did it so well.

Tuscany - Much cooler. We drove round and round. Saw the famous Pisa. Nice place but too many tourists. can't really sit down and have a quiet picnic as I thought...
My happiest moment came when we arrive at the hill town, San Gimignano. That's how Italy looks like in my mind. Vast land, stone house, smoke from chimney, cool weather. We had a good time sipping wine, enjoying the peace and quiet in the surrounding. The sound of nature always sooth one's tired soul. I'm so in love. I must give hb a big hug. So glad he's here to share all these with me. No way can I describe how I feel there and then. We say it'll be nice if we can retire somewhere liek this. Wake up for a morning stroll, spend the day preparing meals, read books, drive to another town for a littler adventure now and then...what a life.

Venice - You're special. I've always like water. Fascinated by the shape it can take, enjoy the lightness I feel when immerse in it. Now, I'm amazed how a coomunity live on it. Water water every where. It makes me float in the air too. Running and dacing around St Mark's sq is liberating. It's not crowded at all. we're there either very early in the morning or really late at night. We just stay around the corner so it's convenient. It's amusing to watch the pigeons wask their feathers when it rains. They would flap over their feather and wash beneath their armpits (Not sure if that's how we call it.) Hb and I enjoy our boat trip to Murano. Going through the narrow water way brushing pass other boats seeing all the smiley faces hearing the boat men trease each other. Gawking at the unique architecture in Venice. Beautiful! A short stroll in Trochetto, and Burano brings me closer to our earth - nothing in between us. The colourful houses in Burano telling the fisherman wheere home is just warms my heart. Of course I wont miss the chance to snap a shot of my favourite purple house. that's the colour of my house if hb is a fisherman. Another hug for you hb, thanks for sharing these moments with me. No way can I tell another how good it feels. But I know there's someone who's been through it just the way I did. You know what I mean. Love you.

My hubby always tells me how beautiful Paris and Italy are and how he definitely wants to bring me someday.
Seems like you'd agree. Glad you're having a wonderful time after some pretty difficult months...

Frankly, alot of places are beautiful when you're there with the right person...For places like these always bring the perosn you lve with you else it just feels extra extra lonely. Was in Paris alone before and it feels so miserable with no one to hug and to share that wonderful experience.
